Morning Sickness (or all day sickness)

Comments from the Facebook page to help with morning sickness; 
if serious morning sickness persists into the 2nd trimester and you are not picking up weight please see your doctor as you could be loosing vital electrolytes which could lead to dehydration. 


1. Snacking on a regular basis
2. A.Vogel Molkosan, 1 tbs in juice or water. Will help settle the stomach acids which will help but not cure morning sickness
3. Pregnant Shakes with ice cold milk
4. Fizzy water
5. Rice Cakes
6. Fresh Ginger in water
7. Small meals/ grazing during the day
8. Avoid refined sugars and carbs
9. Oranges
10.Almonds
11.Sabr
12. Syrup lemons
13. Smelling ginger oil on a tissue
14. Avoid strong smelling foods
15. Bananas or crackers in the morning
16. Nausea band
17. Purity lollies, ginger lollies

  1. I had terrible morning sickness for the first trimester. A few things that I tried which aren't mentioned here:

    - acupuncture (I found relief for the duration of my session although they say it's different for everyone and some people can get relief for up to a week)

    - hypnosis; I downloaded the hypnobabies track to help with morning sickness and it helped a little

    - there are some websites which demonstrate acupressure techniques for morning sickness (works on the same principle as the seabands (nausea bands) which stimulate the acupressure points on the inner wrist). Be careful though because some pressure points can induce labour.

    At the end of the day, the only thing which worked was waiting it out! It's the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, alhamdulillah :)
